Twirly Whirly Pinwheel

This is the make 'n take the ladies made at my Seasonal Catalogue launch. I've cased it out of our Impressions magazine which is a great resource for us Demonstrators. We receive it bi-monthly and it is chock full of great ideas. The little pinwheel is a Sizzlits Die and is super dooper easy to assemble! The finished pinwheel measures 5.1cm x 5.1cm. We've used a rhinestone basic jewel in the centre, but you could use a button a brad or a pearl depending on the look you want to achieve.

To make this card you'll need:
Stamp Set: Ciao Baby
Card Stock: Cajun Craze, Whisper White
Designer Paper: Tea for Two
Ink: Bashful Blue Stampin' Pad
Accessories: Rhinestone Basic Jewel, Toothpick
Tools: Big Shot, Curly Label Punch (SAB), Sizzlits Pinwheel Die

I'd be delighted to order Stampin' Up! products for you and have them delivered straight to your address anywhere in New Zealand. I'm also always happy to offer help and advice. To place your order or ask a question, just send me an email or give me a call on 09 416 7476.

I hope you're having a great week and I'll see you back here soon!

Stampin Up's Collage Curios

This was the card I made for my swap, which I've cased out of the new catalogue. You'll find it on page 24. To be honest, it was a bit fiddly, but was a ton of fun to make and I only had to make four. I only swapped with a few of the WOW PaperKRafters team because when I saw the list of ladies swapping in the big team, I knew that I wouldn't have the time. Very disappointing because there were some amazing swaps made, but it's a sacrifice I have to make since I've returned to full time work in the Airforce {which I am totally loving}!!

There are heaps of lovely products in the Seasonal cattie and if you're an embellishment lover, then there will be lots of yummy goodies that will appeal to you. Aren't the Soda Pop Tops just the cutest things!

Here's what was used to make this card:
Stamp Set: Collage Curios, Fabulous Phrases
Card Stock: Basic Grey, Calypso Coral, Lucky Limeade, Sahara Sand, Very Vanilla
Designer Paper: In Colour 2012-14 Designer Series Paper
Ink: Basic Grey, Calypso Coral, Lucky Limeade, Sahara Sand
Accessories: Basic Pearls, White Tea Lace paper Doilies, Silver Soda Pop Tops
Tools: 1" Circle Punch, 1 3/4" Scallop Circle Punch, Elegant Butterfly Punch, Big Shot, Chevron Textured Impressions EF, Sewing Machine and thread

I'll be back soon to share more creative goodness. Until then, have a fabulous week! :-)

Wedding Day Bliss

This was the card that I made for my friend Mel who was married on Friday. I got the idea in my head that I wanted to do an almost monochromatic card to keep with her colour scheme of black, white and silver. I will admit, this is not exactly what I had in mind but - it was fast and easy! I've seen cards similar in blog land, but made with hearts and I really liked the effect. After embossing the card front with the Designer Frames embossing folder and cutting out some Butterflies with the Beautiful Wings embosslits, adding some pearls and the message and... ta da, it's all done! I'm quite pleased with the result and just wish I could say the same for the photo...

Stamp set: Occasional Quotes (retired)
Card Stock: Basic Black, Whisper White
Ink: Versamark
Accessories: White Embossing Powder, Basic Pearls
Tools: Big Shot, Designer Frames Embossing Folder, Beautiful Wings Embosslits, Large Oval Punch

It's a beautiful day here in Auckland and I hope to get outside to enjoy some of it a bit later on. I'll be back tomorrow with some more fun - so be sure to tune back in and I'll see you then!

Wish Big

I'm in Australia at present, so have scheduled this post while I'm away. I only hope it works okay, since I promised to show you another handmade card I received for my birthday.  This is the card that I received from the lovely Judy Beetson. Thanks Judy - I love it!

Stamp Set: Word Play, Pocket Silhouettes (retired)
Card Stock: Certainly Celery, Whisper White, Bravo Burgundy
Ink: Versamark
Accessories: White Embossing Powder
Tools: Heat Tool, 1 3/4" Circle Punch, Blossom Punch

Once again, I've guessed the products used in Judy's card, so if there are any anomalies I'll make the necessary amendments later.

I hope your Wednesday is going well. Pop back again soon, because I've got a wedding card to show you. I haven't made it yet, but it's a twilight wedding that I'm attending on Friday - so I'll have to get busy between now and then...well, once I get home at least.  See you then!

Blackboard Technique

As promised here's another gorgeous card that I received for my birthday - it's from Sally Williams and (I think) she has used the Blackboard technique, which is all the rage at the moment. I haven't spoken to Sally this past week, so I'm not 100% sure. Apologies if I'm incorrect.

Stamp Set: Fabulous Phrases, Bring on the Cake
Card Stock: Melon Mambo, Whisper White
Ink: Versamark, Not Quite Navy
Accessories: White Embossing Powder, Embossing Buddy
Tools: Heat Tool, Distressing Tool

I don't know how to do this technique so am also unsure about what products were used to make this card. If we're lucky, Sally might enlighten us and then I'll make the appropriate amendments at a later date.

See you back tomorrow with another lovely card that I received.

Happy Birthday to Me...

Goodness, I've had a busy time of late.  I celebrated the big 50 birthday last weekend and had friends and family visit from around the country. I still can't believe it and think that I might still be in denial. It was a great party weekend and I'm pleased to say that I was more than up for it! My mother and I were the last to go to bed on the Saturday night (or should I say Sunday morning) which was at 4.30am. An excellent effort don't you think!

Because I haven't made anything for quite some time (am definitely having big withdrawals) and therefore don't have anything to show you, I thought that I would post some of the lovely handmade cards that I received for my birthday. This card was made by Karen Rogers and I love the vintage look about it - isn't it lovely? Once again, my photography skills don't do it justice and it looks so much better in real life.
